If you recall, back in April there was an announcement for a new Hasbro-WotC united project, a My Little Pony RPG. Well this has turned out to be vaporware, without even the slightest hint of news regarding it for 8 months. However, one of my friends is a diehard MLP fan, and she has said the only way she would ever consider gaming is if she could play such a game. She keeps asking me when, Ryan, when will My Little Pony come out.
I need your help.
By the way, I am actually totally serious about this. My friend, Resa, is getting married Saturday the 29th (to one of my gamer friends), and while I'm probably starting this too late to get it done in time, I at least want to get it done in time for her return from the honeymoon.
Now clearly two weeks is more than enough time to thoroughly playtest this thing, so I figure I'll spend this weekend working up the rules, and then send out playtest packets to a few dozen groups who are interested in running quick MLP campaigns. Of course, if you have any preferences for the game, you might want to let me know them now, before I get too far into the design of the game.
For instance, should I hew more toward My Little Pony, or My Little Pony Tales? Would you prefer adventuring ponies, or ones who go to school and talk about relationships? Are flutterponies and seaponies necessary, or should I focus on fleshing out the earth ponies, unicorns, and pegasus ponies?
Here's some background material for those of you less familiar with the setting and genre conventions: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Little_Pony
Act now if you want to get in. I'm only accepting 40 playtest groups; then I've got to close the entries.
