Help Me Drop My Next Adventure Hook

The adventure I'm currently running, Rescue at Rivenroar, will soon come to an end and I need to drop a hook for the next adventure. I am not going to run the rest of the Scales of War adventure path, so I need some assistance from the fine minds here on where to go next. Here's what I need:

-An idea that I can flesh out into my next adventure
-A hook to drop into the current adventure

Notes:
-This may require knowledge of Rescue at Rivenroar and therefore, may include SPOILERS.
- The campaign is set in the Forgotten Realms (4E timeline). Brindol=Highmoon, Deepingdale. I located Castle Rivenroar in the foothills of the Thunder Peaks to the west of Highmoon.

Ok here goes.
As the party is riding down the road they come upon a bloody arm lying in the road. There are no apperent foot prints indecating how it got there.
There is a peice of parchment sticking out of the sleave of the arm.
when one of the members reads the parchment, the party and all of there equipment, including horses and wagons teleport away. They teleport into the middle of a cathedral in an Abby thousands of leagues from where they where at, right in the middle of a religious ceramony that is going on.

first off you don't want to drop hooks. that sounds like you are trolling for some fish to take your bait. you want to listen to what your players are saying is interesting. come up with ideas from their own suggestions.
add red herrings and bits of nonissues at every possible loot gathering or information gathering opportunity.

so ... the ranger wants to buy a new bow... he says he wants one that is special or unique for him... make up some story about how the hair from a centaurs tail will make a stronger string. the bowyer or fletcher just might know where to find an ash tree which is straighter than most but it is risky since a dryad reported lives nearby...

and so on...
