I prefer it to be in English as I don't want any ties to anything oriental. Warfist is pretty cool. Any other ideas?

Why not tell us exactly how it differs from the monk so we have some idea what to call it?

Wow, this is hard. I'd imagine that each marital art technique would have a unique name for itself as well as its practitioners, so finding a good, catch-all name is not easy. Perhaps a Battle Savant or Combat Savant, now that the XPH has renamed the Psychokinetic-based Psion? Or steal Adept from the NPC spellcaster class, and find a new name for it?

Yeah the origin of the class development in the game/setting is the key to finding an appropriate name.

"Haymaker" for instance could be a good name for a class option born out of landworkers forbidden to use weapons that still found a way to defend themselves and their families with out breaking the letter of the law

but class names and what they are called "in game" are rarely the same, so "martial artist" is fine. Really.

"Hi, I'm Bob, and I'm a rogue."

Skirmisher - Pudgiest - or just fist even.

If their supernatural monk powers are divinely granted like a paladin or cleric then "Fist of X" with x= god name.
