Help me pick 2nd level spells for my Archivist!

Ok next level my Dread Necro/Archivist will be able to cast 2nd level divine spells. I am looking for the most useful that people can come up with. He is basically the main healer in our current group so CMW is a given and Lesser Restoration as well. Books allowed are mainly just Core but if there are some good ones from Spell Compendium, I will discuss with my DM to see if I can find a copy. Thanks for the help in advance

You may want to be more specific. C. Div has a feat that lets you spontaneously convert spells into curing if you can already cast some curing spells.

Core for spells, most other WotC books for feats. He already has Spontaneous healing from C. Divine.

Ah. Then don't burn any more known spell slots on cure spells. Lesser Restoration, and hmm . . . barkskin?

Yup thats the plan been working well so far. Since he basically has the ability to learn any Divine spell, trying to narrow it down to a short list so I'm not wasting a small fortune on scrolls. Also alot of Divine Necromancy spells are covered by his Dread Necro spell list so I don't have to worry about getting those.

Whats the make up of the rest of the party? Buff spells may be boring, but if you have a couple of good tanks, it may be more productive than offensive spells. If you don't have a traditional Wizard, you may want to focus on divination spells and the dispell magic line of spells, in due time of course.

Our DM is running a lower magic campaign, basically I am the only "full" caster. The other caster is the Halfling Druid/Ranger that is going Halfling Outrider. We are only allowed to take half our level in one casting class, hence the multiclassing for me, I plan on basically alternating between the two as I level up, currently 2nd/2nd lvl. Thanks for ideas so far.

Well, first off, Lesser Restoration is 1st level for Paladins, so get a scroll of that and learn it at first.
