Help Me Select a 2nd Level 3.5e Dungeon Crawl

Pinotage- This looks interesting. Can I cut out the swamp part at the beginning and go right to the dungeon?

SWBaxter- Yes, I have DLed this adventure and it looks like a good fit, I can modify Rooms 7 and 8 to my needs and scale up the last encounter a bit.

Sure you can. The adventure is naturally more interesting if you play the ziggurat as part of the overall plot, but there's not reason you can't invent your own plot and just have it as a lost temple or something which hides an artifact. The encounters in the area around the ziggurat can be kept to keep it more interesting.
