Help me think of a system, please!

Ok, I remember the last time that I visited my FLGS (Games Plus in Mount Prospect...great store), I saw a rules book for a game that looked really cool and I can't remember what it was now. It was a system that is based in playing a tv show. You create a show and the players are actors portraying roles in the show. It's a really cool concept.

Now, I know that I could just call them in the morning to find out...but it's just one of those things that's going to bug me all night if I don't figure it out, so I was hoping someone here might know what I'm talking about.

Anybody know what system that might be?

I don't know about TV shows, but Hong Kong Action Theatre! is an RPG in which the characters are actors in Hong Kong action movies. Is that perhaps what you were looking for?

I'm a big Fantasy Flight supporter, so I recommend while over at the website for Fantasy flight Games website, you should check out Midnight campaign world it's got a big twist in the feel for LOTR where the Evil rules the planet and there is few cities of hope for the player characters some what new but big support as a variety of books are already out for the system with several more in their way along with a boxed set later on this year.
I just recommend you check out Fantasy flight games website...

The BUFFY/ANGEL game from EDEN's unisystem discussess a lot of the game mechanics in terms of a TV show. Perhaps that was it.

Well, a little more information would help narrow down the game a bit more, there have been several games based on the concept of running in TV shows. Two that stand out to me are X-Crawl, the d20 game where you play adventurers in a modern age who participate in a gameshow style dungeon crawl for cash and prizes.

Another, older game is Dream Park, by R Talsorian games. This is based on a series of books about a futuristic theme park that includes players who play in a live action game while a director/DM runs special effects, holograms and actors playing the NPCs and monsters. The players in the game can change what character they play from game to game. So in that game you are playing a person who's playing a live action RPG...

Finally made my way into Thalmin's store the other day and saw the system I was thinking of...

It's called "Now Playing."
