Help...player won't get his head out of the book

I don't think he's looking for anything related to what we're doing... simply browsing through spells mostly.

When I first played rpgs I used to do this. We were playing starwars d6, and I was reading through the rifts rulebook. I doubt it has anything to do with the rules in there at all... the player is just bored. I would suggest making him the focus of a few story arcs until he starts paying attention again.

other strategy. Make up and print a spell booklet with all the appropriate info for that character only.
