Help! Someone's going to play a Frenzied Berserker!

Yeah but there's always the thing about sending him in front to take the trap damage, fight the big scary monsters...

Yeah just have him try to rambo his way through and the rest of you stay behind! :)

Inform the player that the first time his character turns on the rest of the party, that's it - you won't adventure further with him. This should discourage him from taking that PrC. If not, then when it happens boot the character out of the party. Problem solved.

I would ask the DM why he would even consider allowing such a silly class into his campaign. Immune to being killed no matter how much damage it takes?

I wouldn't worry so much about that or even about the PC killing the rest of the party, since there are easy ways around that.

As a DM I would consider the amount of resources and planning that will have to be done by the rest of the PCs, all just to control one character. I think it really takes something away from the traditional role of "the party" in D&D when the group has to tailor their strategy exclusively around one PC. For me as a player, it just wouldn't be as much fun if I had to worry about how to wrangle the Frenzied Berserker in every single combat. It would get tedious, especially if I was the player designated as the Frenzied Berserker Wrangler.

If the other PCs don't know what a frenzied berserker is, then when he turns on them they should try to kill him. Not, "Hey, we'll restrain him until he calms down and then talk to him." This mercenary you just picked up turns on you with bloodlust in his eyes? You kill him. No problem, not even for the most LG exalted paladin.

Take a level of cleric with the Death domain, and give him the death touch when his HP is around 0 or lower. Death knell is good for this also. Buy scrolls of this spell.

Or you can have him attack illusions.

Good idea!

In general I'd agree, except that the OP did mention that the player was creating a character who was heading towards that class, rather than being created with that class. If that mercenary you picked up six months ago, and who has been a loyal friend in all that time, suddenly turns on you with bloodlust in his eyes, you might not immediately resort to the 'kill him' option.

The FB turning on your party members is only half the problem. The other half is when he starts making your other party members frenzy, too. All it takes is one failed Will save and your wizard stops casting spells, charges into meele, and gets hacked to pieces.
