Help with a new game

(Not quite sure if this should have gone in general discussion, but it probably fits better here)

So a another new campaign managed to sneak up on me. Hopefully this one will actually have a session before dieing. I'll be DMing it 3.5 but want to make the transition to 4e as easy as possible when it comes.

As far as possible I want to restrict races and classes to 4e equivelents. So far I have:

Classes:
Fighter
Wizard (given the changes would sorcerer work better?)
Rogue
Cleric
Paladin (using UA varients to ease the alignment restrictions)
Warlock
Dragon Shaman (Marshal is closer in flavour to whatever the Warlord is going to be but it's kind of weak)
Ranger

Races:
Human
Elf (change favoured class to ranger)
Dwarf
Halfling
Tiefling (I'll need to modify it to be LA +0, and probably add charisma bonus rather than penalty and change favoured class to Warlock)
Dragonborn
Grey elf (From MM, closest thing I could find to Eladrin)

Magic Items: I don't see the magic item changes coming up too much because the game probably won't reach high levels before the change over, if it does come up I can easily avoid stat boosters and other proscribed items.

Any thought? suggestions? blatant flaws that I was too stupid to miss?

I recommend using one of the marshal variants on the web that have had their power increased.
Sorcerer does sound more suitable than wizard - what I would do is give it wizard bonus feats, but only for reserve feats (Complete Mage).
Also, you might want to consider using crusader and warblade instead of paladin and fighter because those two classes may be closer to the 4e fighter/paladin than the 3e fighter/paladin.

Races:
Human
Elf (change favoured class to ranger)
Dwarf
Halfling

Sounds sensible. Keep in mind gnomes, hobgoblins, orcs, changelings, warforged, shifter, etc. are probably available as PC races in the Monster Manual, so you could allow those too.
