Help With A Pirates Campaign

I was just talking about the fusion of Indy & nautical puns. I saw that last joke and decided to skipper. I thought it was junk, and that to use it would have been a gaff. IOW, I avoided it on porpoise.

Of course, I can't take all the credit for my prescience- I consulted a coracle.

Should I ask for quarter?

Nice stuff, Nate! Consider it followed with thanks! :)

I'm thinking about adding a 7th attribute in this campaign... Luck. Just thinking it could be cool in a pirate campaign.

Possible uses:

affect rolls for random treasure
certain encounters may or may not appear based on secret rolls using luck
slightly modify combat
affect the likelihood of uncovering plot secrets

Thoughts? Comments? Other uses? Too much trouble for what it's worth? Balance issues?

That's an interesting thought. I'm a fan of the action points from D20 Modern, and use them in my Skull & Bones games. They help there, I think, to compensate for the lack of healing magic. I haven't tried them in a high-fantasy game, but I don't think they'd be overwhelming, especially if some of the NPC's had them, too.

It seems to me like such an attribute could be similar to them.
