Any ideas or some interesting feats for a single class fighter?

The character currently just hit 8th level so there will be a feat there and then another at ninth pretty quickly.

Current feats are: Power Attack, Imp. Sunder, Imp. Bullrush, Close-quarters combat, Wep. Focus (Greatsword), Wep. Spec (Greatsword), Combat Brute, Shock Trooper.(Both from CWar)

Stats: S:18 D:14 C:15 I:11 W:11 Ch:11 (yes the dice gawds thought 11 was a funny number that night)

The obvious 8th level feat would be greater weapon focus but I was wondering if there were any other, more creative ideas?

Improved Critical could be very handy. A greatsword is, what 19-20, so your threat range goes to 17-20. You qualify for Imp. Critical at 8th level as a fighter.

The obvious feats to me are Cleave and Great Cleave. Not creative perhaps, but extremely effective with a two-handed weapon.

With fighter will saves, Iron Will never hurts.

I find I like going first so Imp Init is good. Don't forget if you go before their initative comes up at the start of a combat, they will be flat footed.

Imp Crit isn't so great since it doesn't stack with Keen anymore. Greater Weapon Spec would probably be a better choice from a numbers standpoint. Also you would probably want Cleave to take advantage of the increased damage you would get from a crit, since getting a crit substantially improves your chances of cleaving.

Quick Draw has a number of potential uses.

There's always Monkey Grip for using that Large Greatsword. More damage, plus it lets you fullfill your Final Fantasy fantasies.

I tend to avoid Imp. Crit. in 3.5 since keen replaces it pretty much.

I have not picked up Cleave yet as I have not run into to too many situations where I would have been able to use it in the latest campaign. I may take it but like I said I wanted to see if there was some other more interesting feats from sources I may have missed.

Any opinions on Leap Attack from CAdv.? I could take it at 9th.

Thanks for all the input.

A few numbers to think of, for a power-attacker.

1.) Keen vs. Improved Crit?

Keen is a +1 enchantment bonus. Which is equivalent, to you, as +1 to attack and +1 to damage, which is the same as +3 to damage (Power attacking with a 2-handed weapon). So you ought to ask yourself - is a feat worth it for +3 to damage? The answer is yes. Yes, it is. And thus, Improved Crit is worth taking, and then just get your sword better enchanted.

2.) Monkey Grip

Average damage for a large greatsword? 10.5. Average damage for a greatsword? 7. So you spend a feat to allow yourself a -2 AB penalty, for +3.5 damage. Advice: Don't spend the feat. Power attack for 2 more. Gain +4 damage instead of +3.5!

Personally, I have always found Combat Expertise to be a terrifically useful feat. Both greater weapon focus and Improved Crit are excellent, though.
