D&D 5E Help with handling a ship's crew

Ok the Nina only had a crew of 24. And I don't know spell jammer but everyone's crew numbers seem high to me. I would go with 10 and 20 rule. 10% of your crew will not sign back on. And 20% of those (min of 1 jerk) will bad mouth you and your ship. So stick with your rp aspect.
Have you consider upkeep cost on the ship? I would say upkeep is 10% of the gp value of ship. This to replace sails, food, etc.
