help with my 1st level character

With Mind over Body feat (Int instead of Con for hit points) you're going to get enough hit points to stand in melee.

As a note, Mind over Body lets you use your Int modifier instead of your Con modifier for hit points at first level only

I would go rogue/duelist, and concentrate on the skills that use your charisma.

Dapper and dashing, using Expertise, Improved Disarm, and the other "intelligent" fighter feats, your character would be rather potent -- and make a good fighter once you get going.

Be an elf

Go Monte Cook Bard from BOEM II.

then Fighter multiclass.

Then move into Bladesinger.

It actually makes for a decent class path with a wide variety of skills, and abilities. I have a player doing that they just got 1st level bladesinger . They don't do much up front damage but with expertise and some of the bard spells he is impossible to hit so he can always aid another etc. he also has a whip for tripping. The bladesinger abilities will up his combat ability as well. the whole thing roleplaying wise fits well together as well.

You would be a perfect complement to the priate/rogue player just stay in the city were wearing heavy armor is unsual and drive toward a more urban campaign.

That would be my plan.

ok, more info

ok guys, more info.

the campaign will be set in calimport, it will be thoroughly city adventures for a while, then maybe some wilderness later on, i cant be 100% positive though. since i dont seen tohave said much about my personal preferences, i should make it clear now.

i do like bards, but i dont particularly want to play one. i wouldnt mind wizard or socerer, becaus ei havent played an arcane spellcaster before. i would like to play a non-stereotypical warrior class (paladin, fighter, barbarian, urban ranger), since i have the stats. a roge is very doable, although with my dex i would be concentrating on social skills.

any other ideas welcome.

Besides an illusionist or sorceror...

I can see that a druid or ranger could work. With charisma and all those skillpoints coming your way you could pump up your Animal Empathy and Handle Animal skills and train some friends. Maybe a pet monkey? It would be odd for city adventures but it could work.

I like the urban ranger concept. But it doesn't really take advantage of your charisma.

An illusionist would be pretty good in an urban environment. Lots of opportunities for disguise or misdirection.

Well, here is an oddball character concept idea I had for a high level character. Take Sor/Wiz and Fighter and head towards the spellsword PrC. However, spin it this way, take spells that make other weapons. There is a good 1st level and 3rd level one in Magic of Fearun (Someone's Persistant Blade and Steel Dance). Pick up some illusion spells to aid in this. In combat, your job is to make tons of dancing swords, some real, some illusion. Mirror image or improved invisibilty will also help. On the fighting side of things, you can take the expertise and dodge chains. Basicly, your character uses magic to create a whirlwind of blades that confuse, annoys, and dice your enemies. Anyway, good luck with your character.
