Here's the way it is

The problem with raising barns is that the ingrates never support you in your old age. And after you spend all that money on braces, college, weddings...

but was it a wee barn?

dirty kids these days don't ever know when to change their nappys.

Know when to stop, people. The standard EN World rule for not posting dumb-ass, content-less threads is not suspended in this forum.

Everyone needs to draw a line, I think, and that line is drawn by common sense. One "Ask" thread was no big deal. Nine was all chaff and no wheat. I could have merged them - that might have been funny - but I was trying to make a point.

I hope this experiment works, and that means that we all need to use good judgment. A good rule of thumb? Don't post stuff that you wouldn't previously post in the General Forum two weeks ago. We're all still feeling this out, so don't feel too bad about the locked threads. . . but we appreciate it when you continue to post because others will find it interesting, not just because you can.

Okay, questions?

This forum is an experiment. It's here for two weeks, after which I'll decide whether or not to keep it.

You can discuss pretty much anything you like in here, subject to two basic rules:

1) If there is a specific forum for it elsewhere, please post in that forum.

2) Religion and politics are not allowed, as has always been the rule here at EN World.

So, feel free to discuss general news, personal stuff, whatever you like. Just don't post about religion or politics. After two weeks, this forum may well disappear, so please use it appropriately.
There appears to be some sort of disconnect between yourself and Morrus. Do we listen to him, or to you? Help?

I realize that the sticky threads do not get much traffic, but I was sure that at least YOU read them Pcat! :)

Listen to both of them! :) Post about what you want to, within reason. No politics, no religion. And no super-annoying stuff like the 10 "Ask XYZ" threads that cropped up last week (and spurred Piratecat's additional comments). Most people are pretty good at figuring out what is super-annoying and what's not, and if it's not clear a moderator will "make the call."

I need a moderator to tell me if it's super-annoying when I do this:

*bangs forehead on desk*

Help me.
What, no sandpaper, carpet tacks, and isopropyl rubbing alcohol? Try harder. HARDER I say! :D

See, *points at barsoomcore* I told you so. People are not able to see or understand the annoying things that they do. Consequently, I propose that you create a set of guidelines that detail every allowable topic. Alternatively, you might opt to create a set of guidelines that detail every topic that is disallowed. Or, you could do both. I will leave it up to you to decide. :)

And thus remove the need for this forum at all since every possible topic and/or statement has already been rigidly defined and discussed to death. It will be the epitome of efficiency.
