Not sure on the extended part, the chinese verison, which I have, comes with a second disk, the usual, documentary, gallery, comments, and the making of the movie.

The version released in China is the full version. The US versions has 24 minutes cut out of it. Not sure what is in those 24 minutes.

I liked the movie. But from another thread in this forum I was expecting to like it more than I did. I don't think it's the equal of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. The story is less compelling, the characters less poignant. Still, I do plan on getting the DVD when it comes out.

This sums up my opinion. It's a really stylised piece of filmmaking - consider the use of colour, if nothing else - which suits the age-of-legends storyline. It's also a lot less thin on characterisation than you would expect, even if most of it is misdirecting.
