What would you like to see in a Heroes of the Astral Sea or Elemental Chaos or Far Realms? For example what classes, powers, builds, races, items, pps, eds, rituals, power sources, or rituals woyld you like to see for each.

Personally I'd like a divine build for Bards, a Hierodule class, none angel none contruct divine servant race for the astral sea, elemental power source and Shi'ar class, and playable Janni for EC, and something simular to Alienist only as a full class for the far realms as well as psionic cleric build for characters that worship far realmsian horrors as well as the return of the Synads and Meadens.

Honestly, I think that the last thing 4ed needs is even more classes and races. As fun as some of these concepts might be to play, I think that they are perfectly adaptable from current options. Most of the classes already have pretty good variety to choose from, with only a few exceptions (I'm look at you runepriest and seeker). From those, its even pretty easy to reflavor current options to fit almost anything.

The Divine Bard for example is already easily done with multiclassing (in fact, there's even a paragon path specifically for this). You don't even need to reflavor. Perhaps your bard is a missionary spreading the good word and one of his methods is that of the performer (after all, a lot of priests in the real word are also very charismatic). I think at a certain point, you simply end up with too much bloat, with too many niche options that don't really need to see official release status except maybe as an article in DDi. As fun as I find it to flip through D&D books (particularly while killing time in a book store) I actually think it was a pretty good idea on WotC's part to cut back on the release schedule.

I think most likely these will come out anyway so why not speculate and offer ideas. Besides speculating can be fun.

The Divine Bard would have different features from the arcane bard. As for the hierodule I'm thinking a controller or leader with zone pets, like thay would be zones, but instead of requiring minor sustains it would have hitpoints and be attackable.

I think something like this is exactly what they were talking about when they said the wanted articles about using what's already in the game rather than adding more to it.

Expand on this post, and you could submit it to WotC.

Heroes of the Astral Sea

I would see this product as divine, obviously, but more for those clerics and paladins etc who are not so closely tied to the gods. There is a lot of divine energy up there, and a bit of support for those who are divine, but not followers of a specific deity would be nice.

Heroes of the Elemental Chaos

Elemental Power Source, including a lot of transformations from one form to another.

Heroes of the Far Realm

This is by far the most iffy of all the suggestions, as the Far Realm is outside the game as it is designed now. Maybe make this a bridge product about traveling form one realm to another, but not sure how to do this.

That had never stopped the producers fro making such books. ;)

And I want a Mind Flayer Class (similar to the vampire in HoS) in the Far Realm book. :)

And 4 elemental classes in the Elemental one, and an angel and devil class in the Astral one, and a Demon one in the Abyss one, and

I think I will stop now.

Yes we could make a divine bard with multiclassing, but that would be like making a Blackgurd by multiclassing a Cavalier or Opaladin and multiclassing with Ossassin, but that doesn't mean that it would be as cool or as good. I'd personally perfer to see a divine bard build in HOAS, but each to thier own.

To get things back on track, what kind of classes would you want in HOAS?

I'd laugh if it had a full shadow class.

I can think of only one thing, I'd like to see in a 'Heroes of the Astral Sea' book:

Githyanki as a player race and builds (or themes or prestige classes) to cover the most important archetypes:
- Astral Pirate
- Dragon Rider
- Gish

I also want to see a book about Goblinoids as player races. Bonus points if it's an extension to the Eberron setting.
