I also loved the reference to Hiro having a membership in the "Merry Marvel Marching Society". That was the Marvel Comics fan club back in the 1960's and very early 1970's!

And here I thought it was "Mary Marvel." *shakes head*

Good episode. Hiro continues to be my favorite character so far and I find his subplot the most interesting.

Did anyone else catch the painting leaning up against the wall when Hiro walked into the artists appartment, it was some sort of symbol. It almost looked like a lowercase " f ". When Mohinder found his dad's flash drive and they showed the screen on the laptop the same symbol was scrolling by.

Yes, I noticed that. There were two paintings of the symbol, actually. I thought it might be a representation of a DNA fragment, the one for the superpower gene, maybe?

The second episode definitely hooked me more than the first one. Especially the ending and the connections that are made in this episode.

Interesting. I noticed the picture at first and just thought he was drawing what he thought had already happened with his brother and/or him flying. Then after I saw the picture the second time after the levitating incident I didn't have time to think that he had drawn the future.

So is it possible that he has access to everyone's powers? If so, it won't be hard to see it progress as the season continues. So far each person's schtick is pretty unique and obvious (at least to the viewer). Would be very interesting if he could manifest many powers, either singly or multiple at once.
Whatever his power is, it is definitely interesting.
He had contact with his brother and the future-painting artist, so maybe he in fact can get powers from other people...

I couldn't put my finger on it until last night's episode. the I noticed in the credits that Jeph Loeb is involved. But that isn't the "thing", it just reminded my of it: this series feels very JMS and Rising Stars-ish. It isn't a bad thing, but I wonder if this show, successful or otherwise, is going to kill the RS television show or movie JMS has been trying to get off the ground.

An excellent episode - even better than the first (which I thoroughly enjoyed). Nice to see the beginnings (and some hints) of the "super-villain". However, "Siler" isn't a particularly cool super-villain name... ;)

Mrs. Arnwyn and I will be in for the long haul (assuming there is a long haul...).

Yeah, I think this episode is finally starting to show some potential, even though
half of it was a clip show of the first show. Just in case you happened to miss the pilot, don't worry. We'll show the whole damn thing again for you.

And the beginning voice-over guy has got to go...
"In a world where super-powers are king, one man is all that stands between the world and total annihilation." Blech.

Other than that, I'm starting to enjoy things. The super-power stealing thing is a very nice catch. I didn't notice it, but it makes a lot of sense.

As for the weird symbol, it was also located in the pool at the girl's house...
I also think we may have already seen a super villain. In episode 1. On the cover of the comic book that the boy was reading...

A friend of mine, has said the same thing...repeatedly...

Huh. I'm going to have to go back to the recording and take a look.

I completely tuned out the stuff on the laptop screen, because it looked almost exactly like any of a number of garden variety software packages we use at work for aligning (matching) nucleotide or amino acid sequences. Hardly high-end genetic research, that. :) And my friends wonder why I sometimes find it hard to maintain suspension of disbelief when the life sciences pop up in movies or TV shows...

I noticed that too. I think that symbol is going to be this show's equivalent to the magic "Lost" numbers....
