Heroes Season 3 promo

Season Two may not have been the best tv but...
heroes (season 2) is to The Bachelor (or 99% other reality tv) as clean cool water is to a cup of old urine.

Agreed. I'd take a Heroes episode with Hiro and Sylar doing a tapdance-battle over the fate of a Cracker Barrel Restaurant in medieval Japan, over any episode of ANY reality or semi-reality TV show, anytime. :)

I disagree. They said they had several episodes written where Sylar and Candice (Missy's character) travel together. However, that had to be hastily rewritten into him killing her in one episode (and then she couldn't even appear for that). Given, however, the chemistry that the two characters had in the brief scenes they did share, I think that would have been much more entertaining to see.
That assumes that something important would have happened in those scenes (and that the already jumpy show could handle another, longer such jump).

But it does explain why things didn't get better as much as they could have. Season two did start to improve as time went on, but it never got the chance to really make up for its slow start.

I didn't see the alleged improvement, so I disagree. It's just an opinion-matter though, so no biggie.

Um, what? It's extremely helpful from a "we watched the season and found these problems" manner, since in his announcement he identified what specifically didn't work and why, promising to fix those problems in the next season.

Because, he didn't see the problems as problems and say such during the airing. He identified the problem after everyone pointed the problems out. That doesn't really signify that he can see such things ahead of air-time in the future.

I honestly don't understand a lot of the hatred I'm seeing for the show. Yes, it's imperfect, but people really seem to get worked up over its failures, despite the fact that it's succeeded more often than it's failed. The characters and plot are still really interesting, and the way it tells its stories works. But again and again, people seem to say how a single character just ruins the show for them, or how after season two (which was half of a normal season, had problems that have since been fixed, and was still pretty good at the end) has convinced them never to watch the show again.

It's an opinion, nothing more. There is no "hatred" on my end, the show is just not worth me remembering to watch it. Lots of my friends dropped to the "download and watch a few eps at a time" manner, and then only when they were reminded that the show had aired.

The plots are repetitious, the characters tedious. The decisions they make are totally driven by plot rather than by the character's intelligence or manners, or any real sense of their powers.

I don't see why people seem to take every misstep Heroes makes so personally.

It's because you have faith in the show. You enjoyed it, and still enjoy it enough to believe and hope that it will deliver want you want. To those of us that just don't CARE about the show anymore, the glossing over of the shows failings doesn't make us want to see it again.

Also, don't assign strong emotions to too many of the posts, it doesn't take a lot of effort to post an opinion, certainly not as much effort as dedicating an hour a week to a show that just feels tedious to me.

Not really a valid comparison though. I'd turn the tv off long before watching most reality tv shows. I can find a lot more enjoyable things to waste time on then Heroes.

OMFG! Best plot line ever! Too bad we all know that Hiro would win that battle*, I mean honestly, considering how geeky Hiro is, I'm pretty sure he spends most of his time watching anime or playing Dance Dance Revolution when he isn't drinking with Ando, snorting modeling glue, or read manga/comic books.

*Without stopping time.

Now only if they would Nerf Sylar and Peter...

They did in season 2. Frankly, they made the three guys too powerful from the start. Even in season 1, they were trying to nerf Hiro's powers. (Oh it won't work without this mystical sword blah blah)
