Heroics Spell Question

Hey all,

Quick question -- the spell Heroics allows a caster to give the recipient a fighter bonus feat for 10/min per level, assuming the recipient meets the base requirements.

Will multiple castings allow multiple feats for the duration?

why wouldnt they?
of course you should bear in mind that if one of the preq is a feat granted by the spell when it expires so will the second one. are you the dm? if not simply ask him if he feels its ok, if you are give it a test run. if it gets out of hand cancel it. also look up FAQ ,bet you're not the first to think of it ;)

No, I'm the player. I DM, and I'm not sure how I would feel about one of my players doing this...

I'm playing a sorcerer with herocis, so I could grant myself with multiple castings (5 2nd level spells a day) Combat Expertise, Improved Disarm, Ranged Disarm, etc... that seems a bit much, even for multiple castings.

Not to me. Don't get me wrong, it's an interesting spell, but there are 2nd level spells that easily match the power of a single temporary fighter feat. Would you rather have +6 natural armor and a bite attack (alter self, troglodyte) or the combat expertise feat?

Maybe I've come across a good option for my character, but it seems a little too good, perhaps. That being said, after compiling my list, a lot of these feats aren't going to be useful since the players don't meet the prerequisites, but its still a very good spell for a limited caster like a sorcerer ...

How many hits does that +1 from weapon focus have to cause in order to match the damage of a basic "blaster" spell? How often will it be dispelled? How soon will your elemental companion be destroyed (wasting the investment)? The tradeoff is that you're getting versatility instead of raw power. Like I said, it's an interesting spell, but it's not overpowered IMO.
 

I certainly hope my Earth elemental won't be destroyed! The penalties for losing it are harsh! (1d4 damage to Str, Dex, Con). Of course, that's why I will have cast mage armor, and false life on good 'ol Rocky, and be ready to jump in with a bull's strength, heroics, shield, or fist of stone spell ...
 

Ah. You're aming to be a dedicated "buffer"? Could be fun. (You seem to know what you're doing, but if you run out of ideas I have lots of suggestions for Sor/Wiz buff spells. Get girallon's blessing next. :))
 

I'm a long time DM scratching my itch to play -- I've never played a buffer, or a sorcerer before. I imagine most of my buff spells will go to my earth elemental, and then to me and the other party members (at 38 hp at 5th level, after I cast false life and enlarge person, it seems I may be drafted as a support-fighter-type, sheesh!).

At least I get to alleviate my boredom by playing my earth elemental -- good 'ol rock, nothing beat's rock.

My current spell selection is 0 - caltrops, detect magic, light, mage hand, read magic, resistance; 1 - enlarge person, fist of stone, hail of stone, mage armor, ray of enfeeblement, shield; 2 - false life, shatter, heroics.

My wishlist for spells include 1 - ray of clumsiness; 2 - bull's strength, earthen grasp, greater mage armor, undeniable gravity; 3 - dispel magic, greater magic weapon, heroism, tremorsense; 4 - call of stone, stone shape, stoneskin; 5 - wall of stone; 6 - disintegrate, stone body, summon monster vi. I'm always up for suggestions (although I am sticking to a strict earth theme).
