Heroscape, fun for the whole family!

I picked up the D&D Heroscape starter set yesterday. I wasn't really planning on doing much with it besides playing it once or twice when the game night crew was short a player. My seven year old and three year old saw me looking at the pieces and wanted to play. So they helped me link up the tiles and we played a game with the basic rules. My seven year old only wanted to play one character. After studying the stat cards he picked the Eladrin because of his attack power, range, and high move. My three year old wanted to control the bad guys so he got the troll, black dragon, and three drow warriors. I controlled the rest of the heroes.

My three year old is hot with the dice and he totally stomped us. We only managed to kill the dragon and two of the drow. We had a great time and now my wife, who usually has no interest in 'those games' wants to play with us tonight.

D&D Heroscape might end up being one of my best gaming investments.

I glanced at the box this weekend -- all the minis I saw looked awfully familiar. Are they all rebased (and repainted?) DDM figures?
