Hidden Treasures on the book self

Mythtify

First Post
I was placing my new copy of Au on to my game self, when I noticed an old, slightly faded, stabled bond book. I pulled it down, and rediscovered Manhunter, by Ramon Moore.

I rember that this was the first RPG I bought through the mail. It was the first Sci-fi game I ever bought. I sall an add for it in an issue of Dragon. I had to plead with my mom to write out a check for it.

The art was just fantastic. All done by Jerry Bingham. I did a search for it on the net, but found almost nothing except this:

It made me wonder what other hidden treasures are lurking on gaming selves.

I was cleaning my bookshelf and found the "Kobolds Ate My Baby" game that I forgot I had. I was gonna run a game of it at the Milwaukee Gamefest, but I forgot it.

My friend found the entirety of the Villains and Vigilantes product line at a garage sale for about 25 Cents a piece.

My envy just about set me on fire.

The game is good fun,. but the art is fantastic. Does Jeff Dee still work?

My envy burns as well! And the best source of good counters for modern/superhero RP until Fiery Dragon came around. I bought duplicates of a number of modules just for the counters :)

While going through some old boxes last week I found:

In Nomine (bleech!)
Talislanta (don't think I've ever opened it, actually...)
the Ianus Games supplements for CP2020 (the "horrorpunk" stuff)
1e Oriental Adventures (with the pages falling out, natch) and,
Over the Edge (SCORE!!!)

I moved recently and was rather half hazard about packing up my game books (I was only moving 1 floor down.) When I began unpacking my books I uncovered a few gems that had long since been forgotten about like City of the Gods, a few MERP books (Minas Tirith, Moria, as well as the Middle Earth Atlas by Fosted), Chaosium's Stormbringer boxed set (not sure what edition it falls in within the Elric line of RPGS, 1981 printing), some old Known World books with a lot of dust (the Hollow World box and Dawn of the Emperors box). Lots of really old stuff that I've collected and neglected. I was nostalgic for a few weeks re-reading some of these (and wondering why I even bothered purchasing a few of them as well).

Hmm, my recent discovery from the past was Tales of Gargentihr -- a truly abysmal game both for system and setting, but for some reason I keep it around.

Hidden within it are one or two gem-like ideas.

I just have to remember what they were... ;)

I recently refound my MERP book that was essentially only produced to showcase the Angus MacBride cover paintings -- although a little blurb for each painting gave it some semblance of game tie-in. Great art, though. Although I prefer his military history stuff for the likes of Osprey Press and those guys even better.
