Hidden Tunnels under Moscow

Also posted this on the Nutkinland forum, now I can get to ENW :) If you're interested in the Moscow sewers, the following articles may also be of interest.

One of the impacts of Moscow sewer design on living conditions above ground.

A man who may know something about the Great Library hidden somewhere in Moscow's underground.

Hmmm, very interesting piece Buttercup!

I'm sorry I can't really add much to it, I probably learned as much from reading it as anybody else, depite living in Moscow for over 5 years. Do note that the article is over 5 years old (the 'Christ the Savior Cathedral' mentioned as being built is now finished, and has a fascinating museum, underground interestingly enough.

I would add that Moscow has a very interesting Subway/Metro system. The city is criss-criossed with about 10 lines. The Lines are VERY deep (It takes a few minutes to go down the escalator in the deepest ones; they were designed to double as nuclear shelters).

I've heard rumors of secret Metro lines, used by the KGB and other officials back in the day. Supposedly it was/is possible to go from one end of the city to another extremely fast.

The Metro stations are quite beautiful, and are a standard tourist attraction for visitors. The train platforms are in massive underground rooms, most of which are decorated rather lavishly (of course with a lot of proletariat motifs).

I'll try to find those museums mentioned in the article. I haven't ever been to them.

this SCREAMS Call of Cthulhu to me. C'mon- the robed priests under the church singing by torchlight around an old altar?

I believe, actually, this was in fact mentioned in the Delta Green: Countdown book. I believe the tunnels were a nest of ghouls, the ones that worship Stalin. :)
