Hidden Tunnels under Moscow

It's funny how these things are. New York, Chicago and Atlanta all have their own underground systems. Nothing so old Moscow, mind you.

Several years ago my family and I went to London. While their we took the London subway. Repairs were being doing to the usual pedestrian tunnels to the line and people were redirecred to older passages. At one point, we all had to walk down a wide spiral stairs surronded by wire mesh so you could not fall out. This was underground mind you. I could not see the wall of the "room" the stairs were in. Further, it did not have a visable floor. You just walked off a wire-mesh wrapped bridge into another tunnel, when things started looking normal agian.
