hierarchy of the Church of Heironeous

I'm interested in the structure of a Lawful organization such as the Church of Heironeous. I imagine that it is very tightly defined with different orders for Paladins, Clerics, and other members of the church. Members within each Order of the Church would be identified by rank and title, with a chain of command that leads eventually to the top. Something similar in structure to the Catholic Church, but with a more militaristic bent to it.

If you've done similar work on Lawful organizations in your own campaign I'd be interested in seeing it.

Munin, you might check out the later 2e book Bastion of Faith, which has some good ideas for various lawfully-aligned holy orders in it.

If you're specifically looking for GH and Heironeous info, I recommend Russell S. Timm's article in the Of Oerth and Altar series, "Heironeous: The Invincible One." It appears in Oerth Journal #10, and can be downloaded for www.canonfire.com or www.oerthjournal.net. There also a substantial number of articles on CF! about Heironeous, as well.
