And considering that Archmage making his plane- he doesn't need to make a skill check, he has the keys to the lock...

Would Self-Powered Spell also allow one to get past a dead magic zone, an anti-magic field, or maybe ignore aspects of wild magic? Or is it just when dealing with the fabric of a plane.

I would say that the feats don't help against spells, spell-like or supernatural effects that limit (or enhance) magic.

Intrinsic extraordinary abilities of the spellcaster (feats, class abilities, etc.) are not affected, either; these are treated as the normal effect of the spell.

Is there any problem in considering the planar special properties as being extraordinary rather than spell-like or supernatural?
