High Cost of Multicolored Socks?!

I prefer my socks pre-made, thankyouverymuch.

Is there a reason you're sock-shopping online?

It takes my sister between 4 and 8 hours to knit a pair of socks, depending on style, size, etc. Plus there is the cost of materials. $35 for that first pair doesn't seem an unreasonable price to pay for that amount of work. Some people really prefer handmade objects and are quite prepared to pay for them.

The kits? I can't explain $25 for a few balls of yarn and a page of instructions, but I'm sure someone can.

I'll take my thin & cheap walmart socks, thank you. I don't want to think how funky, funky, unfresh those things would get from my boots.

It's simple - high quality woolen yarn is expensive. It's the common acrylic stuff that's cheap. But you wouldn't want to wear it next to your skin.

Yeah, the wool does look to be pretty good quality. Not being a knitter myself, I don't know what a ball of it would commonly go for. My sister has been known to blow a small fortune, though, when she visits the yarn shop.
