High Cost of Multicolored Socks?!

(sung while swaying side to side)

Black socks, they never get dirty
The more that you wear them, the blacker they get.

Some times, I think about washing
But something inside me says: oh no, not yet!

It takes my sister between 4 and 8 hours to knit a pair of socks, depending on style, size, etc. Plus there is the cost of materials. $35 for that first pair doesn't seem an unreasonable price to pay for that amount of work. Some people really prefer handmade objects and are quite prepared to pay for them.

The kits? I can't explain $25 for a few balls of yarn and a page of instructions, but I'm sure someone can.

Handknit socks are that comfortable and you have the fun of knitting them. Those prices are high. Check www.knittersreview.com for links to sock patterns and www.smileysyarns.com and www.knitpicks.com for discount yarn
