Highest level reached from level 1?

So, 3.0 and 3.5 have been out for quite a while now. What is the highest level you or your group has achieved leveling up from level 1?

From 1... 9, or maybe a little higher. I almost never start at 1st level.

The first group I DM'd in 3.0 started at level 1 and hit level 30 and Divine Rank 2

17th. Human rogue. Took less than a year. By contrast the highest level character I'd gotten up from 1st in previous editions was also 17th. Elven fighter. Took TEN years - and that doesn't count the fact that we gamed a LOT more regularly in that period and for much longer hours. So by rights it took 20x the actual gaming time - at least.

Current campaign started at lvl 4, we're currently lvl 19.

The guy who put the group together hates level one because "You can die in one hit."

I've gone from 1 to 22. I joined a game where they started from 1 and went to about 28 or 30, but I didn't vote that because I didn't start from 1 myself.

I GMed a group from level 1 to 22. We started with 6 players ended with 3. Cleric, Druid and Fighter. No prestige classes, all straight class. Well the Fighter may have had a level of Barbarian. Played for a year and half every week for like 8 hours.

I'm one of those DMs that players (including myself, if I had two bodies that is) dread: I start a campaign with the plan that the players will level every third or fourth session, then, after (at most) six months, I get a new idea, and start over. Compounding the problem is the fact I only play once a month, so no one's ever reached fourth level in one of my games (I'm more lenient with XP than I plan). So yeah, I guess I've a short attention span.

I played about 4 campaign who started from level 1 and stop around level 15 but never from 1 to 20...

I wonder how much time this take to people to play from level 1 to 30, i see that some people in the pool did it.
