Highest level reached from level 1?

1st to 24th, back in 3.0 with a human bard; only took 4 levels of a prestige class the other 20 where Bard

Actually, I've only been to 9th lvl in 3.0/3.5--that seems odd. Od&d, 1st, 2nd I've soared through the levels...up to 42nd lvl thief, 30/15 priest/runecaster, and an impressive 14th lvl wild mage. But, nothing so impressive in the latest two editions.

What in the world do you do at 40th level?

My first experience with 3.0 was the longest running -- we went to 12th. Unfortunately, this was followed by four campaigns in a row which never got past 5th level. Then we had an Iron Kingdoms campaign which went to 10th and an FR game which has gone to 9th/10th and is still going. We shall see if we break the record.

I think our level 1's once got as high as level 3. Generally speaking we play a game for about a month and then start a new campaign, cause someone always manages a majority vote to change it. But now that I am the DM, I shall rule with an iron gauntlet and crush those who oppose me!!!

My 1 to 22 game went three years. The one that went to 28 was... I think a year and a half or so, maybe two years.

Anyway, the highest I've played from level 1 is 6, and that was just to level 6 after the final session.

Only playing in RttToEE did I acheive the [tongue]godly powers of 10th level[/cheek], but we started at level 4.
