History of Orcist

Can someone point me to a good history of Orcist in DnD? He seems to be one of the more involved outer planes creatures and I might have a use for him in my campaign.

Assuming you mean Orcus there is a lot of information scattered across old D&D products. His stats appeared in the 1st edition MM, but with little background, his wand is an artifact in the 1e DMG and I would assume it is also in the 2e DMG although probably a more in depth analysis would be in the 2e book of artifacts. He appeared in a set of 1e modules called bloodstone pass, I think it was H4 where 100th level adventurers face him directly. He is apparently pivotal in the 2e planescape supermodule Dead Gods. Also the 1e manual of the planes may have information on him in the Abyss section. Many of these products are or will be available as ESDs from WotC although I think the bloodstone one was a free download.

I am not aaware of any D&D stats for Orcrist the sword from the hobbit although it wouldn't be hard to make it a bane weapon goblins.

That was a fan composed piece. It summarizes the history of Orcus through the variosus TSR products. As a side note, we dont adopt any of the 2E stuff, but I couldnt resist posting the summary since it was so thorough.
