Pathfinder 1E Hit Point Inflation and Power Creep in Pathfinder

Actually, I don't see how its getting generic, or the connection to 4e--which I do not like. But with the advent of 3e, damage output went through the roof while AC and HP did not and since then, power creep and inflation have only escalated things. ?
Damage and hit points are a strange thing. I have no pre-3E experience, but by all accounts, spellcaster damage used to be higher compared to hit points, while melee damage used to be lower compared to hit points.

1d6 damage per level vs d8+CON Hit points per level is far weaker then 1d6 damage per level vs d8 hit points per level.
But critical hits, weapon specialisation, enhancement bonuses, and multiple attacks tend to make melee damage astoundingly high. And this can overshadow the single-target damage of spellcasters (but spellcasters tend to attack multiple creatures, or eventually end up with "save-or-suck" effects that ignore hit points anyway) from time to time. More importantly, it can make full attacks mixed with a single critical extremely deadly.

Dwarf fighters are tough. Elf wizards are the most skilled wizards in all the land. And so on.

I like favored classes in general. Not thrilled about how 3.5 handled them, so I really like the Pathfinder changes. I wouldn't be averse to keying the bonus (HP versus skill point) to BAB, with Average BAB classes getting to choose, though I don't mind it as it is now.

No Elves are not the most skilled Wizards. Unless, you mean Knowledge skills, not aptitude/compentency.
Now Grey Elves in the Monster manual are the most skilled elves.

In 3.5, Elves are the most frail Wizards (Con penalty).

To make Favored Class Stand out: Something like:
And Elves get a +1 caster level bonus 1/day if Wizards is highest level class.

See, now that makes them great Wizards (who wouldn't want extra caster level)

Plus, Wizard has to be highest level or loses it so Prc is harder choice.
