Hello Carnifex. A new avatar for you, eh? How are you doing?

'Ello :) Yes, the new avatar is a cat toy that my gf's housemates got me for my birthday (they claim I act like a cat) :) I'm doing well, working on a steamworks product for Horade. Dunno if you have access to teh steampunk forums, if you do, take a look :)

The good movie I got was: The musketeer. Swashbuckling goodness with hongkong action style combat :D

It was great, as long as I remembered to fast forward through anything that wasn't a fight scene :)

One thing I noticed is that even though you are very complete. You dont start by describing the different engines, you go into maintanance and fuel consumption right away.

THis might be good when developing the rule-mechanics, but it seems a bit strange for the chapter buildup

The idea is that I first off make clear the Maintenance rules, which will be a kinda core concept to the product. I could well do it the other way around though, no probs... but OTOH, it'd be convenient to do maintenance first since it means I can talk about maintenance in the engine descriptions.

Fuel consumption is detailed in the individual engine subsections. Special fuels eg magical coals will be detailed in the next chapter...

I'm still working on exactly how to do the maintenance rules, I need to have a good read through some of the core rules again to see what I can subvert to my use :) I have ideas for using skills and how to determine whether a machine malfunctions of braks down, but it hasn't all quite gelled yet.

I would love players tha came up with that kinda fighting :)

clinging to a ceiling while dueling, perfect.

And in that first bar-fight, I could only think tempest.

I have a crush on rapiers lately :D

You might want to sell the Steam engine first, and then tell the price:D

yeah, but if I start talking about Maintenance DC's and maintenance frequencies needed before I tell the reader about the maintenance rules, they migth get quite confused :)

Im not saying that you should reveale the complete nature of the engine before the rules. But you might want to explain steam engine a little more before diving into the rules. thats all Im saying .

It sounds a bit strange ( at least to me) to start with maintanance and then talk about steam engines, and boilers and such. shouldnýt you tell whats there to maintain before you tell how to maintain?

Maybe we should continue this on Horades? or by IM?
