I'm taking Aikido, so maybe I should keep either my bokken (wooden practice sword) or Jo (staff) with me when I wtart my upcoming campaign

No, Demi is the DM. I'm just his worst nightmare . I brought nerf guns to a session once. They were great to shoot people talking OOC, but then it started getting out of hand.
