Tallarn - I had similar problems with the forum as you were describing when I went in with Rat Bastard. I did get it posted under Stank Ho Slappa, however.
Also, I believe I have recruited one member of the crew we had a brief war with. She attacked Stank Ho Slappa and asked, "Why do you keep attacking me? Its not cool..."
I replied, "Nothing personal, but we were at war with your former crew. Wanna join ours?" (I saw by the user profile that she was no longer in that crew)
The reply was, "Sure!" So that war has gained us at least one new friend I think
