Anything I can do? (Is it your birthday soon or something? You've seen my birthdays thread right?)

Yeah, Birthday soon, but it's mostly the first few weeks of uni that kill me. Universities have a nasty tendency to pay a month in arears, so I live on instant noodles and fumes :)

I'm used to it, but I get grumpy.

Sounds like it sucks!

When's the big day?

Oh: and what do you think of this character story? She's on my boards too, but you guys are... well... here. :D

As a young woman, Thana was always stronger and faster than her peers. To the dismay of her (rather traditional) parents, from a young age she wanted to pursue the life of a warrior, and left home at the age of sixteen to become a mercenary. She had greatest skill with bows, and focused her training on archery.

After three years travelling as a mercenary, Thana met Arrick, another warrior. They fell in love, travelled and fought together, and eventually married. They had two sons, Arrick and Geren, and the family settled in Whiteton, near Imarr. Arrick (senior) continued to support the family through work as a mercenary -- until three years ago, when he was killed in battle.

The burden to support her sons now fell on Thana. With few skills to help her find work in Whiteton, Thana decided to once again take up the bow and the life of a mercenary. Now aged 32, she hires a nanny who takes care of the boys while she is away. Much of her skill now is defensive -- she is less concerned nowadays with racking up kills, more concerned with getting back to her boys (Arrick is now ten, Geren eight) alive and with a little coin in her pocket.

Yeah, it sucks. Not as bad as its been the past few years, but still irritating.

And some time next week, from memory. I'd need to get a calander to be sure.

The character looks good :)

Concise yet descriptive, and nicely sums up the character's attitudes and why she does what she does. I'd say thumb's up.

The only thing I can think of is that this character isn't first level, since she already has an adventuring background, so if the DM wants to weave a plot with a more personal background, the player might want to put in more details, such as - does she know who killed her husband? Does she feel any desire for revenge? Is there anyone she particularly remembers from her mercenary days (for good or for ill, etc)? That sort of thing. Actually, the DM might want that even if the character is first level.

The character's 9th level, and the cousin of the cohort of one of the other PCs. I'm going to email it to the relevant player and the DM in just a minute. I need to find out things, like if there was a big battle or something three years ago that Arrick snr could have died in. My idea was that he was killed in a big fight rather than murdered, but that could certainly have potential too. (More importantly, I think Arrick jr is going to want revenge. He's only ten though!)

Are you feeling old?

Im 31 does that count as old?

:D

Nope. My theory on feeling old is that it happens when you move into a new age category when you're filling out forms.

Filling out forms starts at 12 or there abouts!

So how old are you?
