Now that was a shot to the gut, Mark. I'm hurt ;)

Of course, I'm already making fun of myself in the same fashion, so I can't complain.

But you'll regret those words when I overthrow Corthian!

I wanted to be sure he would thank ME! :D

Hey, wait a minute...something was going on wasn't it? Something about this 750k...

Oh, suddenly it all makes sense! Darn, wish I had been paying attention at the time! :)

Now I'm all worked up. Guess I can just keep on posting 'till I fall over undead...

heeeeey, I can keep posting even then!

Well, only if I became a vampire or something...or else all my posts would be things like "braiiiiiins," or "uauuuuaaaauuuu." That would just be annoying.

ARRRRRggggg!!!!

Argh.. Do WotC's boards EVER work???

I'm trying to post this in one of the Magic forumns..

FORWARD

I'm going to try to do something not done on this forum - post a whole set and the story behind it. It is based upon my D&D setting which is hosted by ENWorld. All characters, names and persons mentioned in this thread are copyrighted by me (Michael Morris).

Dusk has, as one of it's elements, the most fully realized conversion of Magic: The Gathering to the d20 mechanics - although the limits of the d20 license prohibit me from saying as much anywhere on the site. If you browse it's library of over 270 spells you'll find many familiar names such as absolute grace, disenchant, counterspell, second chance, dark ritual, buried alive, summer bloom, early harvest and many more. Those cards containing proper nouns have their names changed, though in spirit many are present. Yawgmoth's Will became Sirrom's Will.

Still, before I could translate Magic to D&D, I felt it necessary to meet it on it's own terms. That meant more than making up a spell, or even a few spells. I had to make a set - and not just a small one but a full one. Since this is a forumn for "made up" cards, this is as good a place as any to display these spells. When reading them, think of them not only independently but how they function as a group.

While I will be updating a few of these cards, I'll be leaving most of them alone. Since this set was completed before Invasion's release, what effect these cards might have on the current metagame was never considered. The cards have been played with though as the set has proven to be a fun way to introduce players to a massive homebrew setting a little bit at a time.

The set is called Dusk Preludes because it occurs 400 years before the current date in the World of Carthasana, the location where the setting is based.

Part I: The Coming Horde

Wanton Destruction

Sorcery

Sacrifice a permament as an additional cost to play wanton destruction. Destroy target permanent that shares at least one type with the sacrificed permanent. (The permanent types are artifact, creature, enchantment and land)

"Tancher came to our world seeking only wanton destruction." - Princess Anatole.

Late in the year 997 Tancher began his march east towards Dalsundria with a force of 7000. They left nothing untouched, raping and pillaging at every village, destroying the fields and laying waste to the villages and structures. When militia met them they would annihilate the force and leave no survivors. Every field of battle they left with impaled bodies arranged in military ranks.

Enchantment

White creatures gain -1/-1

Rank upon file they stood as far as the eye could see -
Macabre testament to the violence that was;
Mute testament to the buchery to be.

Let's see if this worked...

You'll have to quote that post of mine to get the actual text to put in your sig. Just grabbing it off of the screen gets you the truncated version that the board defaults to...
