Oh. Wow. I just found my old copy of 2e Arms and Equipment Guide. Must. Resist. Urge. to read all night.

My first two HIVE posts in months, and I put it down like I'm a sniper. Live, HIVE, LIVE! LIVE!

Just hit the weapons section. I forgot how good this much fluff could be. It seems like every item has a good paragraph of optimal usage guidelines, a good paragraph (or two) of historical context, and another few lines of humorous quotes.

Remember, 3e is all about crunch, not fluff. Manual of the Planes was about as fluffy as it got. Now, 3.5, on the other hand, shows some promise for more fluffyness. The Draconomicon, for example, looks to be about 75% fluff (dragon tactics, society, etc.)

Arc, no one cares about the voulge. It's all about the all-pike.

I'm just taking a break from story hour updates and my rogues' gallery thread, where I just posted stats for Sir Breaker, one of the Knights of Crush on a low-magic world the party I run for had to deal with.

Eventually they meet a fella named Lord Ruin, too. His quote? "I AM LORD RUIN! I KILL FOR PLEASURE! WHO DISTURBS MY REST??"

All very intentionally over-the-top bad guys...
