Morning indeed.

1 AM out in this neck of the woods, and that, my dear hivers, is a sure sign that the Hound should be asleep to finish recovering from this dreadful head cold.

Anyways, I need to be in good shape tomorrow to get some writing done on the Armageddon 2089 book. I just did a chapter on modern corporate mercenaries of the late 20th century and how they tie into the new mercenary teams of 2089.

Now it's time to sit down and design some warmeks and mercenary units that use them for the book. Well, by 'now' I mean when I get up tomorrow and slave myself to the computer.

Generic? no. No one feels they need one, since generic d20 modern would just be real world which is well enough detailed on TV and in our own heads.

The only d20Modern settings currently in print that I can think of off-hand are "Second World Sourcebook" from Second World Simulations and "Digital Burn" from Living Room Games.

I guess by generic I meant something that wasn't along the lines of X-Files or Buffy, where it's current times but things are fantastical. Something like a medium sized town where you could have the player characters be regular people dealing with semi-odd occurences like a serial killer that needs to be stopped or anvironmental terroists that are going to blow up the local damn to reflood the wetlands that were damaged by civilation's incursion. Stuff like that but detailing most of the major orgamizations and entities in the town and vacinity.

Mark, that would be pretty cool! I'd buy something like that if it was done right. The advanced classes would be a no-brainer.

-News Hound
-Police Officer (Beat)
-Police Officer (Detective)
-Police Officer (Officer)
-Trucker
-Web Consultant
-Military (Enlisted)
-Military (Officer)
-Private Investigator

That would be pretty groovy.

Man, you're all over it! That's exactly along the lines of what I was thinking. Wanna write a PDF? :)

Mmm, I not really a fan of playing "prdinary Joes" in strange adventures. So I dont really see the need for a "mundane" setting.

But a good city description is always usefull in a game. But this can be a version of the everyone else book, just for a modern world.
