When did it become a bad thing for guys to flirt with their male friends

Here in France and Spain (I don't know about outside), when you meet a friend, if either the friend or you or both are female, the greeting is usually done with a kiss on the check. I mean, if:

man-woman: kiss
woman-woman: kiss

but

man-man: manly handshake

Sometimes when you want to make a male friend nervous, you can give him a check kiss instead of handshacking. I have some friends who would die before kissing a man's check, and they got very embarrased. Other accept it and give the kiss back, and then it s usually some other people in the group who looks embarrased

Is there a point in all this? no, it's 6:50 am here and my mind is a bit lost

Ah, yes, there was a point. Flirting with another male is not bad, if that don't put any of you uneasy. But I think that any people is uneasy with that. It is tradition's and education's fault

And it's not indescriminate. Certain circles of friends are defined by their flirting, whether the targets are male or female. Others aren't.

Mostly, it tends to come down to how much time the people I know spent in an arts degree
