I wouldn't say so really, once you get past the alpabet, it's largely the same, IMHO.

Hi hive :)
I'm back for a short bit.

While that is true, I find it's more difficult in the sense that nothing modern comes out in Ancient Greek. (I know, that sentence just doesn't make sense).

Okay, to me, a large part about learning a language is immersion. When I took french, teachers used movies, music, newspapers, and other media teach us the language.

With Latin, you can still do that, to a point. While there are no modern productions in Latin (to my knowledge), you can get new printings and comics in Latin. You can get Garfield and even Sluggy Freelance in Latin.

Ancient Greek is a much less widely used medium. The closest thing I've found to mondern use of the language is a theatre group of classicists that still perform some greek plays in their original greek (or, at least, how they think it was supposed to sound).

Perhaps it is just my method of learning.

Hmm, interesting. I never saw stuff like that when I was studying Latin (it was all cicero, caeser, etc.). I do agree it is a more widely used language, but it's still a 'dead language' nontheless. I'm not sure real immersion is possible. Still, I should try to look for those comics you mentioned.

The bitch is back :)

Fed, but still kinda hungry. Saving what food is left. And wishing somebody was on MSN to cheer me up.

Ach, the Hivemind can do that right? :D
