Hold Person not work on Half-Celestial?

Does the Hold Person spell work on a Half-Celestial elf? The type CHANGES to native outsider, so I don't know that it counts.

Does not work. The spell limits itself to races that typicly were low level foes because it is a low level spell. However as it happens those low level foesmare also usually the races PC's are, you might hear a rant downthread claiming the spells are anti Player Character.
