By Jove, I think you've got it. I'd be happy to use that latest iteration in the Constables Game, though the wizard/sorcerer distinction doesn't mean anything to me either.

Regarding permanency, I allow that to be truly permanent, barring dispels and the like. I just want to avoid the industrial revolution that would be inevitable if every low-level caster were to churn out continual lights and selling them for fun and profit. permanency is a high-level spell, and so it will be sufficiently rare that it would cause the same issues.
Thanks! And I guess I can see where you're coming from about the permanancy thing, but continual light remains permanent in my games. ;)

Coolness! So let it be written, so let it be done! (Note the specification of sleep as something that erases a held charge. I don't think that will really change anything, though.)
