Holy cow! D&D tiles for the iPad!

Wow, this just sealed the deal for me...one iPad sold.

I can't believe no one has posted a thread on this yet. Wow, what great news!

Anyone else excited about this?

Well I don't own and never intend to own the overpriced item that is an iPad. However one of my players has an iPhone so I hope WotC import it to that, I know 1x2 is a little restrictive but it is touch sensitive! And it will look cool, 'style over substance FTW' says Cupertino and in this case I couldn't agree more!

Given how excited everyone is about the Microsoft Surface gaming table video that periodically resurfaces, and how expensive Surface is likely to be if/when it actually shows up in anyone's home, the iPad (and related products) are about as close as we're likely to get.

In other words, Wizards, think about it!

I'm glad lots of folks will probably get a good laugh today over my over-enthusium. :) It has caused me to laugh at myself, which is a good thing. :)
I just want to say that I wish more people had this attitude. You're a cool guy, caudor.

Seriously, though, apparently iPads can do a great deal of ad-hoc networking.

I can envisage a future where people do buy multiple ones and place them on a table - cheaper than the MS Surface! You could then each use an iPod Touch/iPhone to control your character :) (The This Week in Tech video has a discussion of the Scrabble app which works like that - you can put a (single) iPad on a table and connect it to the iPhones/iPods of the players so that the iPad shows the board and the iPhones show each player's available tiles, which can be 'flicked' from the iPhone to the iPad and then arranged on the iPad: The TWiT Netcast Network with Leo Laporte )

:D

I'm not sure they're great as a "creation" device. But as a low-cost, friendly media consumption device? I'm fairly impressed.

I was fairly impressed by this use

Seems to work very well.
