Holy Crap! I've Been Bamboozled!

So I am reading Champions of Ruin, and my eyes fall upon a particular epic spell: Aumvor's Fragmented Phylactery. In a nutshell, you can split your lich's phylactery into several objects not surpassing your spellcasting ability score modifier (Int for Wizards, Cha for Sorcerers, erc.)

Well damn, they stole my idea.

Why do I say this?

When I started my current campaign last year in January, I set up the wizard Zelligar as the campaign villain. I made him more of a pain in the arse by having his phylactery split into six incredibly valued gems that were spread among various secret locations.

And here we are, today, discussing this very thing.

I hate when WotC uses their orbital satellite to steal ideas from my brain :p

Hey there, I've been using that orbital satellite system to steal ideas from your brain for the last five years. I tried mining Diaglo's brain for a while, but it just got repetitious in short order.

On both counts, I am not surprised :D

Anyone who has the Book of S series (Ravenloft netbooks) can plainly see that the topiary guardians in the MM III are based on my topiary golems. They just updated them to 3.5 from 2nd. *$#*#@* designers, stealin my idea. ;)

The skin wraiths in Minions are better than the animated skin critter in Liber Mortis (which I don't own but have read).

I actually came up with the whole idea for Chainmail while in utero, but couldn't speak English for like 7 years. Man, the lost income makes my head spin.

Heck, a DM I played with in the mid-80's had the same basic concept in regards to Vecna's Phylactery. Split into three in order to prevent Vecna from ever returning. Bring all three together, or destroy two of the three, and boom! He's back!
