Holy? Screaming Shock? Screaming Corrosive?

Presumably the noise of a combat is loud enough in itself for the thundering not to be a problem with regard to drawing attention.

I have always thought of the 'cacophonous roar' produced as being equivalent to a bit of liquid nitrogen in a sealed 2 liter bottle.

Last time that happened in the building it brought people over from the building next door wondering who had set the bomb off ;)

Seems a bit like having thunder in ones hands, perhaps it is a bit quieter than that though.. it definately stunned the guy who was a few feet away from it though, but that was probably more from shock.

Our PCs are now in 8th level. Relatively wealthy thanks to treasures in Fire Top Mountain and prizes from Deathtrap Dungeon :p

8th level and tossing around greater magic weapons is such a small problem that getting an enhancement boost to the weapon would be foolish? odd ;) but, depending on the game very possible (pearls are nice too).

At level 8 suppression is definately an incredible choice then! Especially if you take a few levels of psychic warrior, psion, or wilder. Who doesnt like bonus psionic feats? hmm.. speaking of which, must go make a +1, suppressing, psionic weapon.. with enough pp it will be +5 naturally anyway, woo!

No, no - he's playing in Titan, rather than a Titan. Titan is the name of the place.

Never heard of it ;) I figured he had just made a typo and put 'in' instead of 'a'.

Oh sorry. I forgot to say that I and members in my play group have STRONG allergy to bring psionics things in fantasy world and thus anything related to psionics never exist in our play. Yes, Mind Flayers just use spell-like abilities (mind blast need not be psionic) in our game. ;)

suppression can be ported over incredibly easily ;)

SRD: (modified)
Suppression: An opponent or object struck by this kind of weapon is subject to a targeted dispel magic spell. The wielder makes a power check (1d20 + 5 + caster level, maximum +15) against a DC of 11 + the caster level of the spell to be dispelled. Bows, crossbows, and slings bestow this ability upon their ammunition, but can do so only three times per day.
Moderate Abjuration ML 10th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, dispel magic; Price +2 bonus

I'll duck out now, I've already said too much ;)

I'm not familiar with Maiming - whassat do?

Heh, standard paladin trick #7 - if you can Smite it, Bless Weapon will trigger also.

With maiming when you roll a confirmed critical threat, you roll randomly for the critical multiplier. If your weapon is x2 Crit roll 1d4, if its x3 Roll d6, if its x4 Roll d8.

The standard paladin trick got even easier with Fist of Raziel. You don't have to cast bless weapon, just smite.

If it is low level then perhaps something like suppression (mainly it is a potion/scroll debuffer, but it also works on secondary casters and, with a few proper levels, on primary casters now and then). Fun times! I used it on a psychic warrior build for another thread before, dispels the enemy fighters haste from boots of haste each round ;)
Huh? Fighter activates haste as free action, full attacks. Psywar attacks, dispels haste. Fighter activates haste as free action, full attacks.

What should it be good for?

Enhancement bonus is not the way to go as Greater Magic Weapon (boosted up by the Karma Bead) is available almost daily.

No, I think there is not a specific type of creature he meets often. He is playing in Titan (Fighting Fantasy world).

You're playing a game set in Titan?!? That's awesome!!! ;)

I used to read those gamebooks but I didn't even realize there was a "Fighting Fantasy World" until about two years ago when I saw the "Titan" sourcebook on eBay.
