Holy Sword

The spell has range "touch" and not "personal" because you have to touch the sword to cast it. If it was personal, you'd be turning yourself into a holy sword, not the weapon. :p

Even though it says "your sword" that could be anyone's sword that the spell was casted on.
I find this logic difficult to comprehend. How could "your sword" mean anything other than "your sword"? If it'd said "a sword" or "the sword" then perhaps. If it'd said the spell ended when it left "its owner's hand" then perhaps.

As it stands, it seems clear (to me at least) that the spell is meant to only affect the caster's weapon. And yes, this can work for clerics with the right domain, too, or even clerics through a miracle. Or even wizards through a limited wish. That's the entire reason the spell was so severely nerfed in 3.5, IMO. Far more than paladins can gain access to it, and sooner, to boot.
