Homebrew: Eldritch Invocation of Arcane Empowerment?

So I am just curious would people think of an Eldritch Invocation to make warlocks more capable of casting lower level spells without as much waste. I find my need to cast first level spell slots combine with my limited number of high level spell slots pretty painful.

Arcane Empowerment
The power of your patron flows through you with greater ease than most, Pact Magic of that flows through you grants you one 1st level spell slot top of your other Pact Magic slots. This slot does not increase scale with the other Pact Magic spell slots but does recharge on a short or long rest with them.

Good point I imagine it would need to be restricted to 5th level or higher. I think it having 3 recharging spells slots 1-4 could be over kills but I have not play tested it and it does cost you an invocation so I am just guessing here.

I could see it with a level 5 prereq. Certainly level 7. I agree that no prereq would be problematic at low levels.
