[Homebrew spell] Khenemet-Apep's Loud Speech

A quickie spell invented for an NPC in my game. I'm balancing it based on Message, reasoning that what it loses in privacy it gains in being able to communicate with many more people at once. Balance feedback requested.

Khenemet-Apep's Loud Speech

Spell Resistance: No

Your voice is magically amplified, allowing it to be heard over a great distance (100 ft. + 10 ft./level). The effect can be activated or deactivated at will over the spell's duration. The spell's effect can be dampened by magical silence. The spell transmits sound, not meaning and doesn't automatically transcend language barriers, although the spell can be used in conjunction with a Tongues spell.

Focus: A small cone made of paper or metal.

Honestly looks fine. I'd add the clause "any voice so amplified is heard as if speaking normally, regardless of how far away the caster is from any one person affected."
This would prevent "I cause an avalanche with my booming voice."

Maybe consider making it a swift action. Yelling in battle needs to be done quickly and talking is a free action anyway (so the spellcasters that 'invented' the spell would make th espell as effortless to cast as yelling is to do). It is lv. 0 but i dont think making it a swift action will render it overpowered for its level.

Judging by that, and by the fact there is message (level 0 transmutation) for something that lets you talk to multiple people, might want to make it a level 1 spell?

Amplifying the sound would make it louder, which could be hazardous. Instead, it should just reinforce the sound as it travels so it does not fade before reaching the maximum range of the spell. This way the volume of the sound is the same at 5 feet as at 100 feet, whether a whisper or a scream...

You can whisper messages and receive whispered replies with little chance of being overheard. You point your finger at each creature you want to receive the message. When you whisper, the whispered message is audible to all targeted creatures within range. Magical silence, 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal (or a thin sheet of lead), or 3 feet of wood or dirt blocks the spell. The message does not have to travel in a straight line. It can circumvent a barrier if there is an open path between you and the subject, and the path’s entire length lies within the spell’s range. The creatures that receive the message can whisper a reply that you hear. The spell transmits sound, not meaning. It doesn’t transcend language barriers.

Note: To speak a message, you must mouth the words and whisper, possibly allowing observers the opportunity to read your lips.
