Homebrew Urban Magic Item - Magazine of [Spell Name]

Magazine of [Spell Name]

Magazine, uncommon

This single-stack pistol magazine, with faintly glowing runes adorning its sides, holds 7 charges.

After inserting it into a compatible handgun, you can use an action to expend 1 or more of its charges to cast the [Spell Name] spell (save DC 15) from it, through the handgun. For 1 charge, you cast the 3rd-level version of the spell. You can increase the spell slot level by one for each additional charge you expend.

The magazine regains 1d6 + 1 expended charges daily at dawn. If you expend the magazine's last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, the magazine crumbles into dust and is destroyed.

Available Spells
Fireball
Lightning Bolt
Magic Missile
Scorching Ray
Acid Arrow (could be renamed Acid Round/Shot to keep with theming)
Chain Lightning
Sunbeam
Disintegrate
Any line or projectile damage spell above 0th level, really.

Yeah, I know this is basically a WAND of [Spell Name], but I love magitek and urban fantasy and an M1911 that shoots magic projectiles just made sense. This, of course, is perfect for any Urban Arcana type campaign you may be playing/running. You could probably also allow Lighting/Flame Arrows spells to work with firearms, as well.
