Honeymarsh Academy (D&D3.5) Chapter 2

Well, the cat was some 60' ahead of you down the corridor, so it easily ducks back inside the cave, but Bartlin begins running, along with Morninglight!

Technically the round starts as soon as the cat dashes back into the cave. Bartlin (and Morninglight), Seeks the Darkness, and Arvin go charging ahead, while others follow a bit more cautiously.

They burst into the cave- it is exactly as Arvin described it with one detail missing.. no witch. The gramophone thing is skipping in the corner, playing one bar of scratchy music over and over.

Before the other characters can catch up though, a wall of flame erupts over the entranceway, crackling with hellish heat. Bartlin is the only one closest enough to be affected and he recoils immediately.

The cave is beginning to get hot.

Seeks the darkness, grits his teeth and dashes through the flames, trusting his celestial heritage to keep some of the heat off of him. Not seeing the witch anywhere, he'll attack the cat with his longsword.

OOC: Charge through flames (if they're still up at my action) and charge the cat.
 



Arvin drops to a crouch, his eyes rapidly scanning the floor for footprints, or any tracks that might give away the witches location.
Even as he concentrates on that, he perks up his reptilian ears in hopes of hearing some soft sound that might give the witch away.

OOC: Survival +8, Listen +8, trying to track her first, then pinpointing a possible invisible character via Listen.
 

OOC: Hi guys. I am getting hammered by my reallife stuff lately, so I am a bit slow. I have had to cancel my other game for example! Ok. Anyhow.

I really apologize for my slow responses. Since we're on the last encounter I'll try and reach the end here.

Treachery!" Bahuma shouts, casting his eyes around to look for the witch. He doesn't see her, and the crackling roar of the flames seems to hinder his ability to hear her.

Just as Bahuma turns around slowly, making his search, the witch - a horribly tall woman with green mottled skin and flyaway hair like seaweed -- materializes out of invisibility, striking at him with oversized claws.

Bahuma takes 19 damage.

"The crown of Korin is mine! You will never take it back from us!" she screams.

Arvin no longer has to try and pinpint an invisible enemy, so he moves up and attacks, striking with his short sword.

On the other side of the wall of flame, Bart and Morninglite rear away from the fire. "I can't get through! Can anyone see her?"

Seeks the Darkness suddenly charges through the wall of flame. Miraculously- the flames don't hurt him , although he expected them too.. but then again.. a witch. Illusions? The wall of fire shimmers and suddenly fades away as he charges through to the other side.
 


Seeker casts about looking for a target. If he sees the cat, he'll charge it and butcher it. If he can't find the cat, then he'll circle the witch to try an take advantage of a flank.
 

Yarin growls and attempts to change forms as a witch is obviously not to be trifled with.

OOC: Change to hybrid... if I can. I have a feeling the dagger wouldn't do much for the witch. :p
